
This
butterfly is called the
Common Rose butterfly, its Scientific Name is
Pachliopta aristolochiae. The Common Rose can be found across most parts of Asia. It is often seen in parks and gardens and is one of the commonest
swallowtails in India.
The
larvae of the Common rose feed on the poisonous creepers and these toxins are stored in their bodies to make the adult butterflies inedible for the
predators.
