The monkey

Taken in a forest road, this one is a Hanuman Langur. Hanuman Langur, the most common Indian Langur is one of the Old World monkeys, belonging to the Semnopithecus Genus. Hanuman langur is also known by the name of Gray Langur, Entellus Langur and Common Indian Langur.
In the Indian forest, langurs form the most powerful ‘vigilance system’ against tigers.
They are mainly herbivorous and their diet includes leaves, flowers, fruits and roots of trees. Most of the time they stay above the trees, and with their superior eyesight, they keep the jungle informed about each and every movement of the tiger. Thus they are called the best friend of deers.
