Hanging Bridge at Suntaleykhola

This is the famous hanging bridge or suspension bridge at Suntaleykhola. The place is in North Bengal, Dooars region. Well connected by road from New Jalpaiguri station. The nearest railway station is New Mal Jn. There is a good accommodation at this place run by WBFDC, called Suntaleykhola Wilderness Camp. There are some cottage style accommodation. Also few Tent style accommodations are located there in a separate place which is also run by WBFDC.

Suntaleykhola Wilderness Camp, WBFDC

This is the Wilderness Camp of WBFDC at Suntaleykhola. A narrow river is flowing beside it, making a beautiful sound all day long. It is particularly the most splendid during monsoon.

The monkey

Taken in a forest road, this one is a Hanuman Langur. Hanuman Langur, the most common Indian Langur is one of the Old World monkeys, belonging to the Semnopithecus Genus. Hanuman langur is also known by the name of Gray Langur, Entellus Langur and Common Indian Langur.
In the Indian forest, langurs form the most powerful ‘vigilance system’ against tigers.

Bandhavgarh National Park

Took this picture on the way back from the morning forest safari trip from Bandhavgarh National Park. The elephant was used by forest dept to search tiger and took them away from the villages near the forest when the tiger enters the villages.

Asian Elephants

The Asian elephants are quite smaller than the African elephants, but still the authority they have over the forest is really admirable.The baby elephant in Bandhavgarh National Park is real cute.
