The Sea Creature

Taken at the Tsukiji Fish market in Tokyo. Tsukiji market is the biggest fish and vegetable market in the world.

Shrimp or Prawn?
There is often confusion regarding the difference between a shrimp and a prawn. In shrimps the side plate of the second segment of the abdomen overlaps the segments in front and behind. In Prawns all the abdominal side plates overlapping tile-like from the front.

Most likely this photo is of a shrimp.

The Mysterious Sea creature

Taken at the sea beach of Digha, India, this mysterious creature (not sure about its species) was caught from deep sea in fish net and was dead when I found it.

Rainbow Shrimp(green)

This little beauty is captured in my planted aquarium. I had 4 at the beginning, now I have almost hundreds of them breeding happily.

Crab Colorful

The picture was taken at the sea beach of Digha in the early morning. The fishermen caught the first batch of fishes, and I found this poor creature, already dead beside the fish net. What attracted me was the bluish color of the crab.

The Spider

Taken at the Barnawapara Sanctuary, Chattisgarh in India,it was a female Nephila maculata (Fabricius) from the family Tetragnathidae because the male reaches maximum upto 5-6 mm. This species of spider is widely distributed over India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, China, Japan, Northern Australia.

Taken at Madhya Pradesh, India, this pictur is of common Indian rose butterfly. This was very colorful and never stood still, making it very hard to focus. However, the wings in motion adds some extra WOW factor to the picture.

This butterfly is called the Common Rose butterfly, its Scientific Name is Pachliopta aristolochiae. The Common Rose can be found across most parts of Asia. It is often seen in parks and gardens and is one of the commonest swallowtails in India.
The larvae of the Common rose feed on the poisonous creepers and these toxins are stored in their bodies to make the adult butterflies inedible for the predators.

With transparent wings this one was my favorite for long. Truely speaking this was the beginning of my love towards macro shots. I have taken so many shots of this particular moth that it almost posed for my cam. The picture was taken at my room.

Capturing this chamelion was a real difficult task as it was very shy. What I have done was wait, wait and wait till it became familiar with my presence. And I took several shots of it, even I could take a picture of it eating the green leaves of some plants.
